Sunday School

PreK–9th

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
~ Matthew 19:14

Sunday School students are a vital part of our church family!

We take great pride in our efforts to offer our children an active role in our congregation through meaningful Christian education and inclusive worship, in addition to special events and programs that bridge church and home.

Visitors

Visiting children are always welcome in our Sunday School, but registering your child at any time in the year is helpful to let us know about allergies and/or special concerns and for you to receive important news and updates about our program.  If you are just visiting for the day or the first time, please make sure the teacher has your name and contact information.

Children's Church

Offered through the academic year, during Sunday Worship

Safe Church

Our first priority is the safety of all children who enter our church. Please take a moment to review our Safe Sanctuary Guidelines by clicking here.

United Church Camps

Offers camps for youth throughout the year. Check out their website to see offerings.

Our Typical School Schedule (September-May)

Families arrive for worship which starts at 10:00 in the sanctuary.

During the service, children are called forward for a special message called the “Children’s Moment.” After this message, children and teachers dismiss from the Sanctuary and go to the Education Wing.

We are currently using a one-room schoolhouse format for our grade school students.  We work to have a balance of Bible, prayer, art and social justice topics in our time together.  It is important that everyone feel loved and safe and learn that God loves them. All registered families will receive a weekly email that summarizes what we did in Sunday School and may have some auxiliary material to do at home, if interested.

9th grade - Faith Formation

Students spend this year working with the pastor, a mentor from the congregation, and their peers to examine and deepen their unique personal faith journeys. Students are welcomed into adult membership in the congregation after completing this process.

Summer Sunday School (June-August)

Christian Education should be a year-round (and lifelong) process! Therefore, while we do not have formal classes during the summer, we do have kids' worship bulletins available each week. The bulletins should be dropped into the box when completed.  Anyone who participates will receive a small prize.  Anyone who completes at least 6 bulletins across the summer will receive a larger reward.

The last Sunday in July is our popular MESSY SUMMER SUNDAY.  In 2024 we painted Debi’s car in acrylic paint and had so much silly fun.  What crazy thing will we do this summer?

Nursery

Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.
~Mark 9:37

Sundays from 9:45 to 11:15

(For children from birth to turning 3 years old after September)

An approved child care provider cares for the children in our nursery during our worship service and coffee fellowship time.

Children are welcomed into a safe, loving, and playful environment that includes interactive play, developmentally appropriate educational toys, inspirational books, and music.

*Please know that children of all ages are also more than welcome to stay in worship. Hearing a baby’s cry is not an interruption; it’s participation!
