Educational Scholarship Funds
First Congregational Church is blessed with four
scholarship funds for members of our congregation who are pursuing
higher education. Active membership in First Congregational Church is a
common requirement. Some funds may be used by anyone regardless of age,
gender, sexual orientation, or type of education being pursued. One has
an age limit, one limits the total number of grants to any one
individual, and one is restricted to seminary education.
In short, there are funds available for most any kind
of additional education thanks to the forethought and generosity of
past and present members of this congregation. Scholarships are
available to any eligible First Congregational Church member.
Depending on the scholarship, grants are available for high school
seniors, continuing education students, and any adult pursuing
additional education and training from colleges or technical colleges.
Applications are reviewed and awards are made by the Scholarship
Committee of the church.
How to Apply:
Secure an application by contacting Carrie Kolanda in the
church office or by opening and printing the online
application packet. Submit a completed application, along with a
copy of the applicant's most recent grade transcript and a recent photo to the church office.
Please contact Carrie Kolanda in the church office (608) 753-8716 or
firstcon@tds.net with your
questions.

Educational
attainment is highly valued by the members of First Congregational
Church. The generous gifts of members of our congregation which have
established our scholarship funds assure that members desirous of
obtaining an education will not be prevented from achieving their
educational goals because of inadequate personal resources.
Youth in our congregation have a
high rate of attainment of post-secondary educational goals. Pursuit of
their goals is encouraged and supported.
First Congregational Church is especially blessed by
having several members who have chosen to pursue a seminary education.
