An Invitation from Pastor Wes for 2010

(Readings Calendar)

A calendar (see below) including a sequential scripture reading each day will walk you through the whole Bible in one year. If life is too frantic or full right now, keep the calendar until another year.

So you know you are not alone in this great adventure, there are a few support systems I am putting into place.

1. Every other week I will send out an email to you reflecting on a part of the scripture you have already read.
2. You are invited to send me an email or call when you stumble across a passage that confounds or frustrates or delights you. If you sense your pulse quicken, it would be great to talk about that either in person or electronically so that we have a sense of community as we read together. 3. In January 2011, I am planning a sermon series highlighting the top five narratives within scripture from this year long adventure...and anyone who journeys with me will be invited to help decide the five.
4. Finally, there will be periodic support group sessions for anyone interested, with the first being after church on February 28, 2010...by then we might all need the hope and encouragement that comes from talking with each other.

I pray this invitation is a blessing to you. I pray we will have some fun with this opportunity to spend a year delving deeper into the Bible. I especially pray there are a few brave souls out there reading this who will commit to declare your intent to accept the challenge to walk through the Bible with me this year. If you are one of those people, talk to me or email me. If you wish to receive my bi-weekly email, please provide me, or the church office with your email address. If you wish not to declare your intent publicly, we hope you will still use the calendar of readings and read along with us.
