Gayle Tucker will be ordained into the ministry here at First Congregational UCC where she will become the third member of our congregation to be ordained in the past six years. Gayle has been called to serve as pastor of the Congregational Church of Jefferson Park in Chicago, Illinois.

Gayle is the daughter of George and Roberta Tucker. She was born and raised in Janesville. Gayle was baptized, completed Faith Formation and lived among us as a member of our community. We look forward to celebrating her ordination with her.

Gayle wishes to express the importance of experiencing youth events (conference, regional and national) as well as her experience on staff at Pilgrim Center in the discernment of her call to ministry. Gayle's interactions with and support from Rev. Bryan Sirchio and Jeff Puhlmann-Becker at these events and at camp have also been very significant to her.

Gayle graduated from Janesville Craig High School in 1998. She graduated from Luther College, Decorah, IA in 2002 with a BA in Music and minors in Music Education and Religion. Gayle graduated from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities, New Brighton, MN in 2007 with a Master of Divinity degree.

While in seminary, Gayle interned at Union-Congregational Church (UCC) in Waupun, WI where she worked closely with Rev. Dr. Michael Bausch and media coordinator Teri Dary. She did a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, working primarily on the Women's Cancer Center and Surgical Intensive Care units. Gayle was a member of the Student Executive Committee and Community and Student Life Committee at United Theological Seminary for two and three years, respectively.
