In Spring 2009, Rev. Bryan Olson (son of Wayne and Lynda Olson and
former member of First Congregational UCC) and his wife Emily relocated
from Cottage Grove, MN, to Bucks County, PA, to begin a brand new United
Church of Christ congregation. New church starts are rare in the UCC and
Bryan and Emily have had the opportunity to set the mission and vision
for this new church plant from the very beginning. Through the power of
the Holy Spirit, Emily and Bryan are building Field of God UCC to be a
place where a missing generation of young believers can meet the Living
God. Field of God United Church of Christ feels called to be an oasis of hope for lonely, lost, and spiritually worn out people. "We want to remove the 'busyness' of church by limiting programming and focusing on building relationships and serving others," says Bryan. He adds, "We want people to have the space to explore and grow in their faith in a relaxed, informal environment where no question is off limits and every act of service is valued. We will consider Field of God a 'success' if we are daily Engaging, Encouraging, Equipping, and Empowering people to live into their missional identity as Christ's disciples." |

As a faith community in its infancy, Field of God is just beginning to live into its vision of being a NEW CHURCH for a NEW GENERATION. The best way you can support this vital ministry is to PRAY! Please add Bryan, Emily, and their new congregation to your weekly and daily prayer lists. Pray for them continuously for the next 18 months in worship and prayer groups. Field of God is committed to praying for you as well and welcomes your prayer requests. You can check on the progress of the new church start ministry and submit your prayer requests at their web site, http://www.fieldofgod.org. Bryan and Emily thank you all for your support and prayers as they seek to answer God's call to do a NEW thing in Bucks County, Philadelphia and the world. |
