Who
We Are |
| First Congregational United Church of
Christ is a historic, downtown church with
deep roots in the city of Janesville. As a congregation
we covenant to live out the following purpose statement: |
- We are a worshipping congregation with a
growing faith, grounded in God, shaped and inspired
by Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
- We encourage freedom of expression coming
from our varied cultures, we strive to create a safe
place where diversity is honored and welcomed.
- We are committed to joining others in caring
for the wider community and sharing in the on-going
struggle for truth, wholeness, justice and peace.

Seuss in the
Summer
Begins on
Sunday
June 7th |
Summer program
for children Pre-K to 9 years of age will be held each Sunday throughout the summer
teaching God's lessons using timeless rhymes and beloved classic
characters.
Sessions will be held
during the regular Sunday school time with dismissal at 11:00 a.m.

Sunday Worship
9:50 a.m.
Child care: Child care is provided for infants and young children
to age three during worship.
A professional attendant is on duty 9:50 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Church School:
Children attend the first part of the worship service.
They hear the scripture read and are present for at least one
hymn and other music of the service. The pastor shares a message
appropriate for children, usually based on the scriptural theme
for the service. At a designated point in the worship service
they leave for Church School which runs until 11:15 a.m.
Healing Service: Included as part of our Sunday
Worship the fifth Sunday of a month as well as during Lent.
This is a service which fosters healing of self, of others or of
the world. It is a time of prayer, scripture readings, anointing
and laying on of hands.

Fellowship Time: Join us
after worship for fellowship and refreshment in our Fireside Room and
get to know our members. |

Accessibility
Attempting to be a faith community which is inclusive rather
than exclusive, First Congregational Church strives to provide a
barrier free environment within our building in order to make
worship and participation in other church programs readily
accessible to all.
